hubby took urgent leave to accompany go for the Down Syndrome Test at ADC.. reached KKH ADC 20mins late for my appt. really many ppl at ADC until no seats lor... waited for 20mins n still the nurse never called mi.. ended up i went up n ask when is my turn.
guess wat, she asked why i never turn up for counselling an hr prior to the appt. wat counselling?? i was not told lor.. all i received was an SMS informing mi of the appt today. so she quickly got a counseller who brought hubby n i to a small room for the counselling. she explained to us the wat is down syndrome, the cost and risk. based on my age 27yrs old, my risk of having a down syndrome baby was 1:700+. any risk ratio of 1:300 below is not good and have to go for futher testing like doing amnio test. after we signed on the paper, she ushered us to another part of the ADC to wait for our turn. took my weight there and it was 74kg+, huh.. i lost ard 1kg???
waited for 15mins and the nurse called my name. the scan was done by Dr. June Tan and compared to the machine at TPS, tis machine is much clearer.. we can see bb is more or less in human form liao. bb keep moving hands up n down throughout the scan. so cute!!!! Dr. Tan showed us bb head (chin, mouth, nasal bone), body, hands and legs... also measured bb neck skin thickness, it was 2.3cm which she said was low risk but on the higher side. bb measured 7.5cm now. the recalculated risk after tis scan was 1:1300++ so i'm supposedly in the low risk level. asked for copies of the scan coz last week Dr. Choey never give me any.
we made payment soon after, there goes $321. was told to go down to clinic A for blood test and recalculated results will be out in 3 working days.. hope it wun be bad.
